HTTP 418

Over the last 7 days, Archive of Our Own has answered our automated checks with 97.4% availability and a typical response time of ~50 ms. The most recent outage began 2026-10-29 17:49 UTC and is still ongoing (severity: down).

Archive of Our Own is a fan-fiction archive run by the Organization for Transformative Works, holding millions of works and the comment threads on them. Reading and posting run off the same application, so an incident tends to take both at once.

Is Archive of Our Own down for everyone or just you?

This is not just you. Our own checks are failing too, so the problem is at Archive of Our Own's end and there is nothing on yours to fix. Waiting is the only fix that works on a real outage.
