What should I do if Amazon is down for me?

Try the checkout rather than the homepage. Storefronts are heavily cached and stay up while the cart, payment or inventory systems behind them are failing. Do not resubmit a payment that appeared to fail. During an incident a duplicate submission is the most common way one order becomes two. Open the site in a private window. A stale cart cookie can produce checkout errors that look like the store being down. Check whether the app and the website disagree. Retail apps often run against a separate API and fail on their own.

Is Amazon down right now?

No, it’s up.

HTTP 200

Over the last 7 days, Amazon has answered our automated checks with 100.00% availability and a typical response time of ~79 ms. The most recent outage began 2026-09-22 23:06 UTC and lasted 14m (severity: degraded).

Amazon's US storefront, covering retail, Prime delivery and marketplace sellers. The site root answers automated requests with a near-empty body, so the check targets a real file on the same host, which fails when that edge does.

Is Amazon down for everyone or just you?

Our automated checks are reaching Amazon normally right now, and it answered our last one in 63ms. That makes any trouble you are hitting more likely to be local to your connection, account or network than a full outage, which usually means you can fix it from your end.
